Digital Mammography Gives Better Contrast, Clearer Images

NORMAL -- Dr. Mitchell Sussman analyzed images of breast tissue on computer screens. "This is better image quality," the radiologist said of one image compared to another. The first image was digital mammography. The second image was standard mammography. "I'm seeing much better than with the old film (standard mammography)," Sussman said. Digital mammography offers clearer images than standard mammography, allowing for quicker breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, he said.
